Rules & Regulations

» The books are marked as reference (Encyclopedia, Dictionaries, Thesis, Periodical etc) are not for issue; these can be consulted in the library.
» No books will be issued prior to accessioning, classification and cataloguing process.
» It is the responsibility of a borrower to ensure that book(s) returned by him/her are recorded in the issue register. To avoid loss/dispute, the borrowers are normally advised to return the book themselves and not through others.
   
» Students are advised to maintain silence and smoking is strictly forbidden in Library.
   
» If a borrower wants a book, which is already issued to someone else, he/she will fill a slip for his/her reservation and leave it with librarian who will inform the demanding person when the book is returned in the Library.

Members and visitors, etc. shall keep their personal belongings such as books, files, bags, purses, etc. with the person on duty at the Reception Desk. No responsibility for the loss of cash, jewellery or watch, etc. will be accepted by the library staff. All valuable items belongings must be retained in personal custody. They will also be required to submit for inspection any book or object which they are carrying while leaving the library.

» Reference services are open to Old-Hajvarian and Researchers as well.
» No library material is to be taken away from the Library premises unless any member gets it issued against from the circulation desk.

Only three books will be issued at a time and further issue may be discontinued in the case of non-return of book or non-payment of fine.
   
»
If a book is lost, damaged, marked, torn out or mistreated, the borrower will be liable to pay its double price at the present market rate or as decided by the Authorities.

Complete silence should be observed except for brief and subdued talk with the library staff.
» For guidance regarding how to use the library, please contact the Librarians of the Central and Postgraduate library.

In the case of non-return of book(s) within the stipulated period, the follow-up notice will be issued on an overdue action may be taken against such defaulter.

The books are liable to return even before the due date. If required for some special purpose / checking or inventory etc.
